Election Week in Mr. Whelan's Class
The excitement began with creating eye-catching election posters and coming up with thoughtful election promises. Some of the children even gave speeches to persuade their classmates to vote for them. It was wonderful to see everyone practicing their public speaking skills and supporting one another.
The role of Class Taoiseach is a very important one. The Taoiseach gets to choose a partner to help them with special jobs, decide which movement break we do each day, and recommend classmates for Dojo points when they see someone putting in great effort.
All the candidates ran fantastic campaigns, and the anticipation was high on Thursday for polling day. Each student received a ballot paper and cast their votes, ranking their top three choices for Class Taoiseach.
After some careful vote counting, Mr. Whelan announced the winner…
But the students will fill you in at home!
