Green Classroom Prize
Members of the Green School committee are taking turns to be ‘waste wardens’. They are checking classroom bins once a week and a class will be picked as our ‘green classroom’ for using their bins correctly. The winning
class will be given a prize and this will continue weekly for the rest of the year.
What will ‘litter wardens’ be looking out for?
- Only recyclable materials are in the green bin: paper & cardboard, all plastic packaging, tins & cans.
- General waste bin used correctly i.e. no recyclables inside.
- Empty milk cartons in recycling bin – milk cartons should be emptied completely in the sink before being put in the green bin.
- Minimal/ no lunch waste – the children should be bringing the waste from their lunches home daily (and encouraged to recycle their waste at home).
- Any spare lunch items are brought out to the food trolley in the hall.
A big well done to Ms. Keaveney and Mr. Whelan's class for being our first green classroom winners!!
