Science Week in Mr. Whelan's Class
Science Week brought great fun and learning to Mr. Whelan's class as we explored the fascinating topic of light and how it travels.
Early in the week, we investigated how light interacts with different objects, learning the meanings of transparent, translucent, and opaque. The children enjoyed testing various materials to see which ones let light pass through.
Later in the week, we discovered that light can only travel in straight lines. This led to some exciting hands-on activities to demonstrate this principle.
By Friday, it was time to put all our learning into action! Using opaque black card, we created shadow puppets and used the projector light to stage puppet shows for the class. The children had a fantastic time designing their puppets and creating their stories. There was plenty of laughter as they entertained one another with their imaginative dramas!
