Senior Infants pick up some pumpkins!
The Senior Infant classes ventured to the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre today to continue their Creative Schools journey. With the help of Clodagh, our Arts Associate, and the OPW gardeners, Brian and Meada, the children, teachers and SNA's had a great time visiting the Victorian Walled Garden to see how Giant Atlantic pumpkins (orange in colour) and Polar Beer pumpkins (white in colour) grow. Huge thanks to Brian and Meada from OPW for the fantastic tour and Parks Superintendent Rachel for inviting us.
We are in the research stages of our Creative Schools Initiative here at St. Mary's in developing our plan for our Classroom in the Sun. The children are the central voice to our initiative and are continuing their journey of discovery about all things gardening, biodiversity, sustainability and a widened appreciation for Mother Nature and the great outdoors!
